About

Alberto Luengo Martin leads AI research at Rkive AI, where the work concerns memory, reasoning, and forms of model behavior that don’t fit the chat-assistant frame. He previously co-founded a medtech, working on a novel mechanism. Two novellas with his agent. A scientific treatise on perfume, slowly underway. He advises a handful of companies on AI and on the problems specific to founders building inside hard categories.

Background
Alberto grew up in Madrid, self-taught in design, programming, and writing alongside formal schooling. He read Medicine at the University of Cantabria and dropped out in 2014 to found ThemTech, a medical-technology company working on AI for diagnostic image processing, multimodal data fusion, and computational pathology — pioneering multimodal fusion and self-supervised learning approaches years before their widespread adoption in academic research.
He led both the business and technical sides of ThemTech until the company wound down, working alongside Nextel Aerospace Defense Simulation, the University of Cantabria, and the Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla.
